Our 19th podcast mix comes from LoYo
Loz moved to Leeds almost 20 years ago to study at Leeds College of Music from the rural lands of Anglesey in North Wales. It was the nightlife which became truly inspirational however, and experiencing DJs such as Fatboy Slim and Darren Emerson at the legendary Back To Basics night at Mint Club proved to be formative indeed.
Producing as one half of Soundex - a huge break came in 2004 when James Zabiela used the track “On/Off” on his Utilities mix. This paved the way for the two-piece to become Speculum (Loz, Vince and Tom). The lads went onto release tracks on a variety of labels and tour the Country with their live blend of Breaks, Techno and all-out Electronic Filth! It was during this time that the night Technique was a huge influence.
Nowadays Loz produces and performs under the pseudonym LoYo as well as presenting and curating the Headfood Show on KMAH radio. He is currently preparing his most polished and accomplished productions to date, and has a brand-new weekly show starting on KMAH
